Alpha chapter made a rally for points dur... ingthepast· week by winning three games. On Thursday, the Alpha minors trimmed the Gamma minors 8-0., scoring all their points on blocked punts near the goal line, one a touchdown, the other a safety. Sunday, Oct. 12 found two Alpha teams in action, the majors winning the morning game 7-0 against Beta while the central league team trimmed the Bet~ centrals 31-0. The major game was the best league tangle of the season. Both sides put up an unusually strong defense on line and end plays, but in the passing game Alpha had the advantage, Zimmerman shooting a long pass to· Goodwin that accounted for the only touch-

Beta chapter has been having hard ·luck ·all week, some of its best players.being .on the sick list, while others were absent from importaht· games. The fact that Beta lost 4 games in one week put the thirst of 'Sweet Revenge'into the veins of coaches 'Chuck' Sweetman and 'Mike' Doyle, who have· lately recruited new material and worked their squads overtime to put them into condition for this week's games.
Gamma kept up in the fight for points by winning out of· three encounters. 'Vhen the Gal11l11aminors were defeated on Tuesday Mahageri Murphy decided that Gamma would lose no (more. Consequently he sent his centrals to the field on Wednesday with instructions to·.win..They complied with orders by defeating their Beta rivals 6-3 in a hard fought and well played game. Again did his word bring fruit, when his minors completely out, classed the heavier Betas 27-0

OSSEO NO MATe;FOR YOUNG JOHNNIES
On Oct. 10, Coach Aldrich's high school team buried the willing but vastly inferior Osseo High eleven under a 72-0 score. The visitors fought creditably from whistle to whistle, and their endeavor merited the frequent applause of the spectators. The better organized and more experienced Johnnie Preps, however, had them outclassed.
The first touchdown came after a,· series of pretty line plunges by Mc Gee and Fogel. Schutz took the ball over on an end run with good interference. Mc Donald and Fogel followed with two more scores. The game was beyond danger.
Although nine subs replaced the regulars early in the game, scoring never ceased. Breun sub halfback, scored twice from the 30 yd. line on off-tackle plays with spectacular runs, while Endres also carried the ball for long steady gains. The locals completed many passes, but the Osseo invaders quite surprised the fans with their pass attack which at times looked good enough to score. Much credit is due to the members of both teams for their hard work. We hope that with this year's experience, Osseo may prove to be a more formidable opponent next season.

nies For 23-0 Win
The Johnnies journeyed to Northfield, Saturday, Oct. 11, and were defeated at the hands of the Conference Champion Oles 23-0. A veteran backfield playing brilliant ball backed by a heavy line proved too much for the locals. The Johnnies' inability to muster the necessary drive at crucial moments accounted for the one-sided score. A 30 yd. end run and several other long end runs showed up the Johnnies at various stages of the game.
The backfields of both elevens worked in excellent fashion, Fevold, Swanson, and Cleve carrying the brunt of the Ole's attack with line plunges and passes that netted neat gains, while Gleason, Miller, and Conway did most of the offensive work for the Johnnies. On the Ole line, Pearson loomed up as one of the best players while Mahowald deserves credit for his work on the Johnnie line.
The game opened with Mahowald of the Johnnies kicking off. After a series of plunges and passes the Oles were forced to punt. An exchange of punts followed, giving· the Oles the ball on their 33rd yd. line. Then an excellent pass by Capt. Swanson gave Cleve, the Oles' veteran right end the ball and and open field from which he raced 30 yds. for a touchdown. Fevold added a point by dropkicking the try-for-point.
The second touchdown came towards the middle of the second period when Swanson caught a pass meant for a Johnnie player, and ran to the 7 yd. line before he could be p.owned. In the two plunges Enger put the ball over the chalk line. The try-for-point was blocked.
The Johnnie~'best chance to score came at one time towards the end of the first half with the ball on the 18 yd. line, and again in the third quarter with the ball on the 5 yd. line. The final counters for the Oles came early in the third quarter when Fevold made a touchdown after successive first downs, and again in the fourth when Cleve booted the ball between the posts from the 23 yd. line.
