BONDS STAMPS
At the annual Record banquet held last Thursday evening, May 13, at the Hotel Spaniol, co-editor Francis Culhane announced to the assembled staff that the Record had been awarded an All-American rating by the Associated Collegiate Press.
This is the third successive year that the St. John's Record has merited this outstanding award. In 1941, James Barry edited the college's first All-American publication. Last year editor James Cullen upheld the standard set him, and the Record achieved its second award. Since first semester editions are the basis of the judgment, credit for this year's achievement goes to ex-editor, J. Gregory Perrizo.
A total of 955 points was given to the various departments, besides constructive criticism by the Association's judges. Special mention was made of editor Perrizo's outstanding editorials, the superior make-up, complete and well-covered sports material, and valuable service to the school.

Henry are all now in various branches of the armed services. In the speeches of the evening their work was remembered and praised. Banquets of former years were usually the occasion of the naming of the following year's staff. Due to the uncertainty of their 1943-44 collegiate status at St. John's, a new staff was not named. A war-depleted body of next year may temporary discontinuing of the Record. At least a staff could not be named now because of indefinite personal plans on the part of all students.
